Computer security software – 2 pieces of FREE Software u need!
Internet and PC threats are increasing by the hour, so be prepared for the worst when you are dealing with your computer and the internet. This article will briefly describe 2 pieces of software that will benefit you.
First and before most you need an Anti Virus program that will protect your computer, automatically update, and not bug the hell out of you when you are surfing the net, or simply trying to type out an important letter.
This piece of FREE Anti virus software people is AVG Anti Virus. Which can be downloaded from Download AVG Anti Virus. My experience with AVG Anti Virus has been pretty good, it simply checks and downloads the latest updates from the internet each and every time you turn your computer on and are connected to the internet, unlike other Anti Virus systems AVG doesn’t bug you and ask you to update or click on things.
Secondly, A firewall. A much needed piece of software for the internet user. My experience with the Windows firewall has been OK, but as expected i don’t find it as good as some others out there, and that is why i cam going to recommend Zone Alarm.
Although i don’t use Zone Alarm myself (I have in the past). I have heard great things about it. Unfortunately this is one of those programs that need your input from time to time, and particularly when you are trying to run programs for the first time and need to tell Windows that your computer is to accept this as a legitimate program.
In case you didn’t know, A firewalls main purpose is to protect your computer from scripts and programs running on your computer that you don’t know about. So for that reason is requests your inputer when ever something runs as to whether you accept this software from running.
Once you have accepted this software to run, you can ask it to remember your response and (fingers crossed) it should not ask you about that software again in future. Zone Alarm can be downloaded from Download Zone Alarm.
With 2 pieces of software installed on your computer you will have less troubles on your web surfing journey’s

Comodo Firewall (please google it) is complete and totally free. Comes with an antivirus (you are allowed whether to install it or not during the install phase), firewall and you have the option to stealth you computer ports, rendering it invisible to others (click the “Firewall” tab -> “Stealth port wizard” and you´re done). An all-in-one master piece, no nag screens, no nag anything. Clean soft. It deserves a try. It “learns” which programs among the ones you have installed are safe or not and asks you to make a decision (permit or not access to this or that function), in the first days. I have to put my laziness aside to configure it, and actually I consider this feature an advantage rather than a disadvantage.
