Motorola Ming A1600 and A1800 Launched in China
The Motorola A1600 and A1800 have been launched in China, both adding new and enhanced GPS, smart handwriting functions and multimedia functions.
The A1600 and the A1800 features a transparent flip cover so that viewable access to the screen inside is maintained even though flip is closed. Included in the A1600 is a 3.2 Mega pixel and auto-focus and panorama functionality. The A1800 supports CDMA/ GSM, has an integrated incoming call/SMS Firewall and owns a 3.0 Mega-pixel Camera.
Both devices come with a 1GB Preloaded Micro SD card with the latest electronic maps of the Chinese mainland. Motorola provide electronic updates for these maps on a fee basis although i believe the first or so updates are free for the A1800.
The 2.4 inch touch screen proves for clear and comfortable writing Chinese characters. The A1600 even has capability of eventually having predictive input options for the commonly used symbols entered through this touch pad.
Ray Yam, Vice President, Motorola Mobile Devices, China said “Designed specifically to reflect the Chinese preference for writing characters by hand, our pen-based PDA series has met with incredible success in China,”.
The 3.2 mega-pixel device on the A1600 proves for the quick and easy way to snap up some quality photos when out and about.
The 3.0-mega-pixel auto-focus camera captures memorable moments. The Ming A1800′s 150MB on-board memory, expandable to 4GB with micro SD card, offers enough storage space to save plenty of photos.
